What is included in my registration?
SWS Annual Meeting registration includes access to all plenary and concurrent sessions as well as access to the poster and exhibit displays. The Welcome Reception and Tuesday-Thursday morning refreshments, lunches and afternoon breaks are also included. Additional fees are required for field trips, workshops, the Fun Run/Walk and Bio Bay Kayak Trip.
Are authors of accepted abstracts required to register for the meeting?
All presenters are required to register. If you are seeking travel assistance, visit the SWS awards page for opportunities.
Are spouses and guests required to register?
Spouses and guests are required to register if they plan on attending SWS social events including the Welcome Reception, Student Mixer and Poster Session & Silent Auction Reception. A spouse or guest must also register for a pass if they plan on signing up for the Bioluminescent Bay Kayak Tour. The Spouse/Guest pass is available for $125. Please contact SWS headquarters if you would like to register for a Spouse/Guest pass.
Are continuing education credits available?
If you maintain a professional license issued by the SWS Professional Certification Program or another association, occupational licensing board or a department of professional regulation, you may be eligible to earn continuing education credits for your participation in the SWS 2017 Annual Meeting. Attendees are responsible for verifying licensing requirements as well as managing and submitting all necessary paperwork. If you have any questions regarding continuing education credit requirements as they pertain to your professional certification or license, please contact the appropriate licensing board directly.
Does SWS have an awards program and how do I apply?
The SWS awards program strives to acknowledge outstanding contributors in wetland science and service and looks to honor those who have made a major impact in the field. This award program not only honors award recipients but also creates awareness of the progress and leadership that takes place within the field. This year’s awards will be presented in San Juan, PR during the Awards Lunch & Business Meeting. Interested in recognizing a fellow colleague for their work? Where can I access presentation materials?
Accepted abstracts will be available via the meeting mobile app and through the online abstract search site. Instructions for accessing the app will be available in early May 2017.
What is the cancellation policy?
Confirmed registrations must be cancelled by May 1, 2017 to receive a refund of the amount paid less a $50 cancellation charge. No refunds shall be made for cancellations after May 1, 2017.
Will internet be available during the meeting?
Wireless internet will be available at the Puerto Rico Convention Center.
